Sometimes, life just gets expensive. One day, you're all caught up on bills, then the next thing you know, you're either needing something super important, having to unexpectedly replace something big, or even lusting after something so badly, you just HAVE to get it now. That's just how things go, especially around the holidays - that end of year stress can really add up, so one way to get a bit of extra financing through times like these, is to call on the help of Affirm.
First, I wanted to share some amazing gift items I found on domino.com, one of Affirm's brand partners. I will explain a bit more about using Affirm just after this. While these Holiday Wishlist Ideas aren't large scale items, I believe we are all under such pressure now to find cute and unique gift items for the holidays, and Affirm has lots of brand partners that enjoy this new payment/checkout method.

"Our mission is simple: deliver honest financial products to improve lives".
"At Affirm, we believe the financial industry desperately needs reinvention. Not only is the core infrastructure built with technology from the 1970s, but a dwindling number of people can say "I trust my bank to look out for me." It doesn't have to be this way.
Affirm's mission is to fix this problem. We are using modern technology to re-imagine and re-build core components of financial infrastructure from the ground up. We're focusing on improving the lives of everyday consumers with less expensive, more transparent financial products".
I am so intrigued by the Affirm mission statement, and am excited to learn more. Finances and big important purchases can be intimidating, so it's good to know that a company is trying to do things a bit different.
In one blog post, Affirm CEO, Max Levchin explains that "Payment options must reflect consumers' new relationship with money". With more people accumulating debt with ever-increasing interest rates, people are not as interested in reaching out for traditional bank loans anymore. Affirm can offer more flexible payment options and even help you build credit without using a traditional credit card. They make loans honest and transparent, and that's a wonderful way to build credit. "In fact, the percentage of Americans under 35 who even hold a credit card has dropped to its lowest level since the Fed began tracking this kind of data".
Like I mentioned in the beginning of this post, the end of the year can be a bit stressful for some of us. It means that we have to sometimes make bigger, unexpected purchases, and life can just get expensive. The example I am using in this post is not exactly an unexpected/emergency item, but sometimes, a large appliance acts up or breaks down, or a dog destroys your furniture and of course, that comes at a time when you're already maxed out for your spending budget because of the holidays. Or, sometimes it seems like the end of the year just inspires us to buy those things we really wanted/needed all year, but now finally get the motivation (or time) to finally purchase those things.

I chose to check out the process with JoyBird because I need some new furniture PRETTY BADLY! In order to take advantage of the Affirm line of credit, I jut added my item of choice to my cart on JoyBird's site, then selected Affirm's financing option at checkout. This brings you to the Affirm page, where you follow a few easy steps to create your own account. This didn't take long at all, and I was signed in pretty quickly.
Anytime you make a purchase with Affirm, you use your cell number to access your account, and they text you a pin to login. This seems very secure, so I never store a password anywhere in their system.
This beautiful Hughes Apartment Chair really caught my eye - it's absolutely stunning and I love anything in grey! You can customize this chair (and all of their other made to order furniture) in a variety of colors and wood stain options.
Click Add To Cart, and then, Review Your Order. Then, be sure to choose AFFIRM CHECKOUT in order to see how much credit you will be given.
Choose Continue To Financing, and it will tell you how much you are approved for.
It's just that easy! I was approved in less than 30 seconds for the total cost of my new chair, and I was also given payment options. Love this!!
I personally do have a credit card but it took years and years before my bank would even offer me one. I had been denied SO many times because I do not have a co-signer, and had simply never had credit before. I basically wanted to build credit just in case we moved, and needed to rent a place, and as I started looking around at rental agreements, and each and every application asked about your credit history.
Affirm would be a good way to build up credit if that is something that's important to you, and also empowers you to make informed decisions when making a large purchase because it's transparent and simple.. They offer a new way to pay and build credit, which is so very important! What are your thoughts on this new form of credit? I'd love to hear your opinion in the comments below.
