Some of our closest friends are having a baby this Fall and I am so excited for them! They are going to be the best parents ever, and deserve a beautiful baby shower! They live about 14 hours from us, but we are pretty certain we will get to visit again before Baby Abigail arrives!
I am sure a lot of people are looking for cute baby shower ideas this summer, so I teamed up with Dixie Ultra®, to create a couple of recipes that their plates could withstand, which they did extremely well.
I shopped at Target for nearly everything I shared in this post, and you can even use the Shoppable Image below, to find the plates for yourself. This special print is only available at Target, and complimented my baby shower decor and delicious recipes extremely well!
PEACH COBBLER

19x9 or 13x13 baking dish
Cinnamon and Sugar To Top
1.) Spray baking dish with non stick spray and get out materials. Biscuits, Peach filling, cinnamon, and sugar.
2.) Bake in convection toaster oven on about 300-350 degrees for 17 minutes covered with foil.
3.) Bake Uncovered for about 10 more minutes and make sure no part of the biscuits are raw.
BBQ CHICKEN SANDWICHES
These are so simple and are so delicious! Great for a crowd!
What You Need:
2 Roaster Chickens
1 1/2 Cups BBQ Sauce
1/4 - 1/2 Chopped Red Onion and garlic
Instructions:
1.) Using rubber gloves, simply cut all of the available chicken off of the roaster chickens. You will find a lot of bones, but by using your hands, a fork, and a sharp knife, you can carefully find all the chicken and shred it with your hands. Set aside and clean up the unused chicken.
2.) In a skillet, simmer a little bit of olive oil, garlic, and onions until soft. Next, add your BBQ sauce and combine thoroughly.
3.) Add your shredded chicken and serve on your favorite buns. I used ciabatta in this post.
Above, you can see just how much chicken I was able to get off of 2 roaster chickens. Below, the finished product! YUM! Serve with slices of watermelon for a real summer theme!
Target had everything I needed as far as plates, utensils, my baking dish, baby gifts, and even the gift wrap of course! The mint cake stand was also from target's "dollar" area for about $5. I got the last ones, and am always hunting for more!
BABY SHOWER TIP: EASY UPDATED CAKE
This was probably my favorite part of the whole setup. I grabbed a sour cream bundt cake from the grocery store, that was on sale for around $4.00. I also made sure to get some adorable, pin Strawberry Icing to make the cake shine. I simply sliced the top of the cake to make it flat. I then flipped it upside down, so the bottom, more finished side was on top. I then used my small silicone spatula to spread the container of pink icing all over my cake and made it nice and smooth. I love how it turned out, and the decorating options are endless! Add a cake topper, sprinkles, and fresh fruit, and even fresh flowers to make your cake look even more like you paid the expensive bakery prices :) My friend said her main pregnancy cravings has been anything sweet, so this cake is something she would LOVE!
The Dixie Ultra plates worked perfectly for a girly baby shower, but I also thought it would be amazing to use the blue shades for a boy's baby shower, and of course they would be amazing for a gender-neutral one too!
Find everything at Target! Thanks so much for checking out my post :)
