L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Pinterest Board!

Style It - Change It - Own It - Spring Hair And Style Inspirations

A little while back, I was hired by L'Oreal to create photographs and hair tutorials, showing Pinterest users how I would style my hair using their new line of hair products, Advanced Hairstyles. I scoured their website, hairstyle.com, for videos and step by step tutorials to see what I could create.

I was also asked to put together a dedicated board (see below), that helped convey the feminine, and beautiful hairstyles that were inspired by their products and tutorial websiteBobby and I took some gorgeous photos for this project, and I think we really captured the essence of these hairstyles and products. I want to give a special thanks to the team at L'Oreal and HelloSociety, both of which made this dreamy project a reality!

This project came at a perfect time, because we were in Cave Creek, Arizona, before it got too hot to be in the southwest. The bright sunshine made for some beautiful photos, and my wonderful step-mom called around to about 5 salons in the Cave Creek and Carefree, AZ area to find me a stylist at short notice. I knew that hiring a professional would be the absolute best way to showcase a professional look for company like L'Oreal, and we wound up at a gorgeous salon, called Studio C in Carefree, AZ - an adorable and upscale town in the desert! A wonderful stylist named Monica worked on my hair, and I couldn't be happier! I brought her ideas, but she already had so many ideas, it was a match made in Heaven.

Here is a peek at my Dedicated Board for L'Oreal Advanced Hairstyles (below).

Below, you will see one of my favorite hairstyles, and a couple of my tutorials I created for L'Oreal.

In partnership with L'Oreal to create styles that inspire you to take your look to the next level. I am beyond excited to team up with L'Oreal to show you how to use their new line of haircare products (available at most drugstores for a very reasonable price). I had an amazing time creating some of these unique hairstyles utilizing their products in so many ways. Photos by Bobby Samat Photography.

Emblem Eyewear - LOVE These Sunglasses!

I recently grabbed some of my favorite styles of sunglasses from this cool site, Emblem Eyewear. They have lots of cool styles to choose from, and they all look pretty sweet on me, if I do say so myself :) I am usually reluctant to go online to do sunglasses shopping, because sunglasses can easily give me a headache if they're too tight. Well, these are as comfortable as they get! Get some of these awesome sunglasses for under $10 each, what a good price for a wardrobe update.

These babies are the pretty hip! The Super Trendy Mod Sunglasses really flattered my face shape quite a bit, which I love! The blue, reflective lenses make it so people can't see your eyes, too!

These Cat Eye Sunglasses are much more of a pastel pink than my photo (above) shows.  They remind me of a pinup chick! They're SO adorable, and make you look elegant, like a fancy lady :)

How To Make A Festival Ready Flower Crown!

I started making these beautiful flower crowns last year and they are so fun and easy! You can make one in about 20 minutes, and they are so customizable - just add whatever type of flower inspires you, and you have a unique, one of a kind accessory, just in time for festival season!

GATHER YOUR MATERIALS // WHAT YOU NEED

1 Bouquet of Silk Flowers - Make sure the flower heads are easy to remove from the stems, and that a wire can go through the enter of the flower head.

Cloth Stem Wires - Pliers, Florist Tape, Wire Cutters, Wrapped Grapevine Wire for crown

How To Make A Festival Ready Flower Crown

Next, cut a length of grapevine wire that will wrap around your head plus an extra 4 inches to twist together to form a circle. Now, lay the circle on a table, and set 8 or more flower heads around the crown to see how you want them to look in the end. You can add a few smaller flowers if you want a more full look to your crown.

PREPARE THE FLOWERS

Cut the Cloth Stem Wires into 4 equal parts with your wire cutters. And, as shown below, the steps are: 1.) fold over the top of the wire about 1/4". 2.) Start to twist the folded part around the rest of the wire. 3.) create a twisted loop in the top of the wire so the flower won't fall off. Thread these looped wires into each flower head you will use.

Put wires through ever flower head, and get ready to attach them to your crown.

ATTACH YOUR FLOWERS

Attach the first flower to your crown by twisting the wired stem to the crown. Twist the flower head wire onto the crown, and use a pair of pliers to secure any sharp wire ends, then use florists tape to make sure no wire ends poke you!

ALMOST DONE!

Now, twist each flower onto the crown, and don't twist each wire all the way until you are happy with the flower placement. Cut the rest of your florists tape pieces, and get ready to wrap each flower stem with tape at the end.

Here is the back view of the crown, before taping up wire ends. Use pliers to secure any sharp wire ends to the crown, then tape each end to the crown. Also, tape the rough ends of the crown so they don't come undone or poke you.

And, here are a few more examples of other flower crowns I created. They're also perfect for a bride, or a little girl who loves flowers! Are you heading to any festivals this year? If so, feel free to comment below.

What To Wear To A Music Festival

Summer is fast approaching, and many music festivals already have tickets on sale, and initial lineups announced. If you are lucky enough to be attending a music festival or two this year, here are a few fashionable suggestions. I always tend to go for more boho styles, and have been to about 20+ festivals, and hundreds of concerts.  Also, for TONS of inspirations, check out my Pinterest Board called Music Festival and Concert Fashion

SUN PROTECTION / HATS / SUNGLASSES

Hats are a MUST if you're going to be out in the sun all day. They not only protect your beautiful face, but they help keep your hair tamed while you are camping. You may even want to bring some dry shampoo, in case a shower isn't as easy to find as expected. Make sure you bring a good SPF, too!! Make sure you drink plenty of water (in addition to whatever else you drink!!), stay in the shade when possible, and try to avoid heat exhaustion and sunburn, as it will completely ruin your festival experience.

FOOTWEAR

I always opt for flat shoes, with some padding or support if possible, whether they are sandals, sneakers, or boots. The benefit to closed toe shoes would be that you can wear ankle socks underneath them. I like to wear something with some cushion - YOU WILL BE WALKING AND DANCING A LOT! I do think it's fun to go a bit dressier in style, rather than your oldest kicks, as shoes can make or break an outfit. Just know that whatever shoes you wear will get dusty and dirty, so don't bring your nicest shoes, or ones that you can't replace. And, make sure they are versatile for whatever outfits you create. I love the idea of embellishing your own boots, too!

OUTFIT INSPIRATIONS

If you're wondering what to pack for a festival, make sure you bring clothes that are comfortable, good for the weather, and feel free to show a little bit of skin! The majority of the girls there will be, so let loose and have fun with your outfits! Bring a few bikini tops, band shirt, tank tops, kimonos, distressed denim shorts, skirts, and lots of fun, boho jewelry and hair accessories.

ACCESSORIES / JEWELRY / PURSES

Pile on the bracelets, long necklaces, ankle bracelets, rings, flower crowns, headbands, and metallic temporary tattoos. These types of accessories can really make an ordinary outfit jump into the boho realm in no time! Also a little body paint may be fun if you are talented with a brush. Make sure you don't get any crazy tan lines/marks though :) A backpack purse or a bag with a  long strap is also great, so your hands can stay free while dancing your heart out!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed some of my Festival Inspirations! Check out MY PINS for tons more inspiration!

What To Wear For Easter

Looking for a cute outfit to wear for Easter? Get yourself an adorable cardigan, a cute top and colorful pants/shorts, or of course, a feminine but modest dress.

Here is a great jewelry option to wear on an elegant yet simple tee.

If you want a more casual look that is still modest and cute, try pairing your favorite comfy cardigan with a white top and patterned shorts or pants underneath. You will be able to still enjoy all of that wonderful Easter food and still be comfortable.

For a much dressier look, pair a sequined tank top and white full skirt with a dark colored cardigan over top.

If you're like me, and sometimes want to cover your legs, wear a cute maxi skirt, white t-shirt, and statement necklace for a cute and fun look. Adding a bright purse is also great!

The Pink Lily Boutique has all sorts of great ideas for Easter and beyond!

Friday Favorites - A beautiful adventure, blue hair, and donuts!

Brightly Twisted!

I have a soft spot in my heart for beautiful tie dyed goods! I even have a Tie Dyes board on Pinterest. The mixing of sometimes unexpected or pleasantly complimentary colors that blend in unique ways really amaze me. Each piece is incredibly unique, no matter how hard you try to make two alike. I tried my hand at doing a little bit of tie dye work a few years ago, and I know how much time and effort each and every piece takes. So, when my friends at Brightly Twisted asked me if they could send me some of their beautiful work, I said, heck yes! I have admired their work for quite a while now. Although they didn't ask me for anything in return, I chose to take a few photos of their work and share it here! I wish I could convey just how incredibly soft all of their materials are, some made from Bamboo!

Cute Heels!

ModCloth is a wonderful website, filled with all sorts of feminine dresses, shoes, and accessories. Their newest shoes are so adorable! I love the photography they have switched to, also. This really makes me want warmer weather to arrive ASAP!!!
