Since basketball is pretty much unavoidable right now, and it's a darn good reason to get together and celebrate, I wanted to share a fun party I set up in honor of the game, which will sure bring thousands upon thousands of people together to watch in anticipation to see what college will come out on top.
At first, I was going to use all orange paper to create my basketballs, but after sifting through all of my paper colors, I was drawn more to the bright, less traditional colors like neon yellow, pink, coral, and a few more. I printed off basketball shapes that measured 1.25" across, onto card stock paper on my black and white printer. This was such a cost effective way to make decorations! Feel free to use your favorite team colors, or go with your 5-6 favorite colors. After I printed the shapes, I cut them out, and taped them to the tops of these peanut butter cups, and wow, they turned out so well!
I am so lucky to be in Arizona at my dad and step mom's house right now, and their gorgeous stucco walls and retro dishes and bar cart made for the perfect special touches to tie this party together!
Next, I used a circular fishbowl style glass vase to serve the peanut butter cups to guests, which also resembles the shape of a basketball. It's a fun way to make your treats even more inviting, as if that were necessary :)
I made a No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie (which was so incredible), find the recipe in this post, here. I also made a delicious Bacon Ranch Cheddar Dip to serve with crackers.
CHEDDAR BACON RANCH DIP RECIPE:
1 8oz container of creak cheese
1 8oz container of sour cream
1 packet ranch dip mix
1 - 2 C. shredded cheddar
1 bottle of bacon pieces (like bacon bits)
Salt to taste
Mix everything together, and let sit in the fridge for a couple of hours to let flavors marinate together. Feel free to eat it right away, but it does get better over the next little while :) This dip is great with crackers, tortilla chips, potato chips, and even veggies!
With the same colors of card stock as above, I also printed out larger basketball shapes, cut them out, then taped them to mint colored ribbon. Again, whatever colors you want to use should be adorable.
Who will you be rooting for?? Let me know in the comments below.
